Pillsbury is a brand generations have been associated with, remembering the famous mascot, the cute Doughboy. From aata dough to cake mix, Pillsbury is a household name today, helping homemakers, budding cooks and even established chefs make delicious recipes for years. 

While there is so much that can be done with Pillsbury, we are going to talk about the yummy dishes that can be made using Pillsbury cake mix. 

Yummy Donuts With Colourful Sprinkles 

Time Taken – 35 minutes

What You’ll Need

  • ¾ cup Pillsbury Cake Mix
  • ¾ cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 3 tablespoons milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla


  1. Preheat the oven at 425°F or 218°C.
  2. While your oven heats, mix the cake mix  (see what we did there, eh?) with melted butter. Make sure you mix up these ingredients well till they are nicely blended together.
  3. Now pour the contents into a piping bag or if you don’t have one, you can do the same with a zip loc bag, cutting the corners for piping. 
  4. Take your donut pan and fill each mould. Make sure you do not go overboard and just fill 2/3rd of each, giving it the space to rise. 
  5. Pop it into the oven and bake for 8 minutes. Or when you seen that the top has risen and bounces upon touching. 
  6. While your donut bakes, mix powdered sugar, vanilla and milk and make your homemade glaze. 
  7. Once your donuts are done, dip into the glaze and add the sprinkles for the fun look. 

Your delicious and colourful donuts are ready!

Swirled Galaxy Cupcakes

Time Taken – 25 minutes + 30 minutes prep time

What You’ll Need

  1. 1 cup Pillsbury Cake Mix.
  2. 1 cup whipped cream
  3. ½ cup oil
  4. Lots and lots of sprinkles


  1. Mix Pillsbury cake mix with oil and water.
  2. Pop it into the oven for 150°C-160°C (300°F-320°F) for at least 20 minutes. 
  3. While your oven bakes, you whip the cream on the side.
  4. Once the cream is fluffy and your cupcake has cooled, you can start topping it up.
  5. Add the sprinkles and voila!

Sweet and Simple Yellow Cake

Time Taken – Prep Time – 20 minutes 

    Total Time – 115 minutes

What You’ll Need

  1. 2.5 cups Pillsbury cake mix
  2. 1.5 cups granulated sugar
  3. ¾ cup softened butter
  4. 1.5 cups milk
  5. 1.5 cups teaspoon vanilla


  1. Heat the oven at 350°F.
  2. Mix the pillsbury cake mix with butter, vanilla till they have been nicely blended.
  3. Grease the designated pan with butter and pour the mix in it. 
  4. Pop it into the oven for 30 – 35 minutes.
  5. Once done, prick it with a toothpick to check its consistency. If wet, put it back in for another 2 minutes and check again. Your perfect cake should have no wet residue on the toothpick. 
  6. Now for the topping, melt chocolate and pour it over the top. You can also mix it frosting and quickly spread it over the top. 

Cake Mix Cookies

Time Taken: 45 minutes

What You’ll Need

  1. 2.25 cups Pillsbury cake mix
  2. ⅓ cup oil
  3. Frosting
  4. Chocolate chips


  1. Preheat the oven 375°F.
  2. Mix the Pilsbury cake mix and oil and stir them well. Make sure that the blend is smooth.
  3. Take out a handful batter at a time and fashion into the shape of flat cookies. 
  4. Pop them into the oven for 8 minutes or till the edges become golden. You need to sharp eyes for that!
  5. Take them out and let them cool. Once done, lather it with the frosting and pour a generous helping of sprinkles or chocolate chips.
